美国耐用品订单意外跳升

商务部公布美国7月耐用品订单增加1.3%，6月修正后亦为增长1.3%, the previous value is an increase0.8%，市场原先预计7月订单同6月持平。报告显示尽管楼市深度修正且发生信贷危机，但经济依然强韧。但美元却下滑，因投资者锁定美元最近几周的强劲涨幅。活跃的制造业可能加强部分美国联邦储备理事会(FED)官员要求加息以抑制通胀的论据。同时，一些分析师担心今年下半年经济形势恐会急转直下，之前政府的退税支票较好地推动了第二季的经济成长。7月运输设备订单增长3.1%, for2月以来最大增幅；机械和原生金属及金属制品订单增加，而计算机及电子产品订单则减少。扣除运输的耐久财订单增加0.7%，市场原先预计为下降0.5%；扣除飞机的非国防资本财订单跳增2.6%, from4月以来最大增幅，原先预估为下降0.1%. Additionally,8month22日当周抵押贷款申请活动三周来首度见长，因30年期固息抵押贷款平均利率成长降至6.44%，这给楼市带来了一丝微弱的希望。

韦伯言论推升欧元
美元兑欧元从六个月高位回落，因欧洲央行委员韦伯的讲话重燃了对欧元区可能升息压制通胀的臆测。欧洲央行管委会委员韦伯的讲话进一步提振欧元上涨，他表示谈论欧元区降息还为时过早，这也刺激了美元跌势。
