中国汽车协会周一公布1月汽车销量同比下滑15.8%，这是连续第七个月下滑，引发了市场对中国燃油需求的担忧。中国是全球第二大油品消费国。不过，该数据仅短暂打压油价。
真正对油价起到推动的作用是原油供应再次减少。除OPEC及俄罗斯等产油国继续削减供应外，美国对委内瑞拉的制裁及该国局势进一步恶化也加剧了原油供应的减少。据悉，俄罗斯的Gazprombank以决定冻结委内瑞拉国有石油公司PDVSA的账户，并停止与该公司的交易，以降低该银行因美国制裁而遭受的制裁风险。与俄国家高层保持言行高度一致的金融机构规避此风险，还是引起了不少人的关注。俄罗斯一直是委内瑞拉总统马杜罗最坚定的支持者之一。
中美贸易谈判展现积极信号也提振了原油多头信心。特朗普表示，与中国的谈判“极度顺利”，并指出华盛顿方面较之前更加接近“达成实质性协议”，只要双方能够达成协议，他将取消关税。最新一轮的中美经贸高级别磋商将于2month21Solstice22日在华盛顿举行。
值得留意的是，库存仍是左右油价涨跌的核心指标，最近四周EIA数据均显示库存增加，最高增幅达到797万桶，上周增幅达到363.3万桶。库存的增加意味着随着全球经济增长放缓，市场对原油的需求在下降。
USD Index
美元指数周一早盘小幅反弹至96.861日内高点后再度下滑，触及96.613低点，随后略有反弹，收于96.743水平。主要是中美贸易谈判取得积极进展推高风险偏好情绪，削弱了美元的避险需求，而美国近期数据表现不佳及新任旧金山联储主席戴利(Mary Daly)发表鸽派言论继续发酵也令美元受压。
美国近期经济数据偏弱，加拿大帝国商业银行分析师Andrew GranthamandRoyce Mendes认为这令美元承压。他们预计今年美国经济将走弱，美元投资者需警惕，今年美国经济数据低于预期或将越来越普遍。
此外，摩根大通经济学家Michael Feroli也不看好美国的经济。基于最新的疲软零售销售数据，他预测美国去年四季度GDPThe annual growth rate is2.0%，此前的预期为2.6%。他对去年四季度消费者支出增长的预期从此前的3.8%Down to2.8%。
