美国炼厂利用率保持韧性，近期油井采掘数量都表明石油开采活动正在复苏。显然，原油多头想要持续翻身并非易事。

周三美元指数大幅下挫，纽约早盘受到ADP就业数据强劲的支持，触及95.946盘中高点，逼近96.00关口，不过，随后公布的美国12月成屋销售待完成指数创下2014年以来最糟糕表现，以及美联储会议声明和鲍威尔讲话基调较市场预期更鸽派，拖累美元指数大幅下挫至95.215日内低点，最终收于95.385。
数据方面，美国1monthADPIncrease in employment21.3万，市场预期增加17.8万，尽管政府经历了创下历史记录的关门，但是新增就业人口数量大幅超过预期。ADP研究所负责人兼副总裁Ahu YildirmazPoint out that,1月几乎所有行业的就业都出现明显增长，制造业就业人数更是创造了超4年的最高增长，劳动力市场继续保持强劲增长，几乎看不到任何放缓的迹象。不过，随后公布的成屋销售数据却令人大跌眼镜。全美房地产经纪人协会的数据显示，去年12月，成屋销售待完成指数月率下降2.2%, for2014年以来最差表现，预期增加0.5%，前值由下跌0.7%下修至下跌0.9%.
