头寸是金融系统关于可用资金调度的一个专业术语，一般银行或者证券业都有自己的资金头寸。

在贵金属交易中，头寸其实就是“持仓量”，指的是投资者当前所有可以运用的资金的总数量。头寸管理的目标就是在保证流动性的前提下尽量降低头寸占用，以免出现资金闲置。 

 比如在gold开户交易中建仓时，投资者买入黄金合约后所持有的头寸叫多头头寸，简称“多头”;投资者卖出黄金合约后所持有的头寸叫空头头寸，简称“空头”。商品未平仓多头合约与未平仓空头合约之间的差额叫做“净头寸”。这种做法只存在黄金交易中，在现货交易中还没有这种做法。 

 由于贵金属平台都是采用做市商交易的，并不是投资者之间相互交易，而是直接在贵金属平台或者贵金属公司做交易的。对于投资者而言，做头寸和不做头寸区别并不大，只要掌握好方向，做对了就能赚到钱的。
