这则故事很清楚地告诉我们，呆若木鸡不是真呆，只是看着呆，其实可以斗，可以应战，可以吓退群鸡。活蹦乱跳、骄态毕露的鸡，不是最厉害的。目光凝聚、纹丝不动、貌似木头的鸡，才是武林高手，根本不必出招，就令人望风而逃。


木鸡的境界，当然不是天生就有的，得有人调教。而且时间短了还不行，连性子急躁的齐王，都得等40多天。
