超短线交易者将交易保持几秒，最多几分钟。他们的目标是在一天中最繁忙的时间了尽可能多的抓住几点的变动。

即日平仓交易者在一天开始时，根据他们自己的观点选择一边， 然后结束一天的交易，可能获利，也可能蒙受损失。这类交易者不会让他们的交易过夜。

波段交易者适合那些能把交易保留几天的人。这类交易者不能一整天监控他们的图表，因此他们每晚花几个小时分析市场，以便做出良好的决定。

头寸交易者是那些可以让交易延续几周，几个月，甚至几年的人。这类交易者知道，分析市场时，基本主题是决定性因素，因此他们据此决定如何交易。
